Stay Lit. EP 4

Sis, you were never supposed to fit in, and truthfully you never will. So, stop trying to be "normal," lowkey, cool, safe, and flying under the radar.

And, don't worry about doing too much. You are unique, attractive, eccentric, talented, and "too much" for a reason. Everything about your personality is what makes you, you (even the stuff you're working on).

It is precisely the thing(s) that you try to brush under the rug that may be your most remarkable testimony and superpower. Grow from and leverage this.

God made no mistakes when he created you. And, he made you to SHINE and baby, he wants you to SHINE brightly.

You were made to blaze trails, set standards, and illuminate dull and dark spaces. Stop shrinking back, editing yourself, being cautious, and trying to avoid standing out. SHINE, sis, all 👏🏾 of you.

Matthew 5:14-‬16 says:

"You are light for the world. A city cannot be hidden when it is located on a hill. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lampstand. Then its light shines on everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.

This scripture is about you, your being, and how what you do naturally and unapologetically (letting your light shine) are what people need to see. This verse says when you allow your light to shine, others will see the good you do and praise the father. God didn't bless you with immense talent to hide.

Furthermore, did you know that Christians are the most attractive people around? Think about it, and it's intentional. It's because of the light that lives on the inside of us. We are peculiar and chosen in a world full of evil, negativity, toxicity, selfishness, and dishonesty (all darkness).

So, when a woman (like you) of morality, Christ's character, and integrity conducts herself in plain sight, she's definitely LIT and a sight to see.

Why? Because operating in Christ's character is a baffling head-scratcher in our culture. Culture has become so desensitized and comfortable functioning in darkness so long that the concept of light is foreign and disruptive.

But sis, I'm here to encourage you to stop questioning your "IT" factor; that's your light. And the more you celebrate and allow it to shine it will get brighter and brighter.

You were never supposed to fit in or passively accept what you're given. You are a light that needs to shine. Keep asking questions, standing up, serving, being integral, unique, and impacting lives. Get yo shine on!

I'm out.
