Has God ghosted you? (what to do) EP 5

Hey, Freebies! TGIF and happy Friday to you. I hope everyone is doing more than well.

This week I wanted to let you know that God hasn't forgotten about you! And, he wanted me to tell you he hears your prayers, sees your tears, and appreciates your efforts and all that hard (heart) work you're putting in.

I mean, seriously, sis, he's God, so he knows evvvvverything! Granted, it may feel like things are uncertain and taking a little longer than you like. But just know, when it feels like he's taking forevvvva, he's actually working out all the deets.

He uses your "waiting time" to bring you closer to him, and he's building your muscles and character during the wait.

Think about it. Ain't it funny how we pray harder when we really want something or find ourselves in trouble? We spend more intentional time with God when we need something than when we don't.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'"
— God

Jeremiah 29:11 perfectly illustrates what God has up his sleeve for us. So, yeah, because God doesn't lie and he's pretty trustworthy, you can relax a bit, sis. Take comfort in him being a man of his word.

And, since we know he has good plans for you, this means you/we just have to keep going, trusting, PRAYING, and believing he's working it out!

Because he is🙄!!! Now that we've established that truth, ya girl have been watching this series by John Bevere titled "The Wilderness."

And LISTEN🗣, it's been blessing, convicting, and inspiring the crap out of me all at the same time! (Click here for series).

What's the "wilderness," Rahk? So glad you asked. The Wilderness is a time that most people go through that's right in the middle of the promise (what you're asking/believing God for) and the journey it takes to get there.

And, from experience, that wilderness journey is ROUGH, especially when it feels like God is taking his sweet time or like he's forgotten about you.

The Wilderness illustrated in questions:

Have you ever prayed for something over and over? Has it ever felt like God took the day off or stepped outside to take a smoke break and never came back? Does it feel like God ain't hearing your prayers? Or has it ever felt like you couldn't win for losing and everything and everyone turned against you for no reason?

Yep, sounds WILDERNESSISH to me and you may be in a wilderness season if you're currently feeling any of that.

But don't fret, sis, I got you. Below are a few tips on what to do when you feel like God's ghosted you.

  • Remember earlier I said, God wanted me to let you know that he hasn't forgotten about you? HE HASN'T! Always remember that he's closer than you think and could never forget about you.

  • He loves you and would never put more on you than you can handle. See below.

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it. 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

  • Be really honest with God about how you feel and what you think (he can handle it).

  • Use the waiting to get a closer relationship with him.

  • Create a gratitude journal listing all the things you still have to be thankful for.

  • Remember that last time you didn't know how something would work out, get paid, or fall in place? BUT IT DID!! IT ALWAYS works out for your good.

  • Learn more about yourself while you wait, and consider how this time is used to build you up for your future.

Last point, sis, the Wilderness is where you get closer to God, learn, refine, and prepare for the blessing. Use it wisely, read, get in shape, save up, pray more, start a routine, and get excited because he IS working. You'll want to be prepared when that blessing comes.

More on the Wilderness next week. For now, I'm out.
